GED kudos to Kaia Getz-Raphael! Throughout the difficulties that COVID-19 presented to MRRJ’s GED class these past twelve months, Kaia stuck with her studies to achieve her GED. This is no small feat and merits celebration and congratulations. National averages show that only 18% of those incarcerated hold a high school diploma. Yet those who earn their GED while in jail or prison have a much better chance of not returning to the system and making better choices for themselves. We certainly wish that for Kaia, whose diligence and persistence in obtaining her GED will pave the road to her dreams of college and beyond!
