Christmas Program

For 37 local children, Christmas this year had an unexpected surprise – the opportunity to hug their incarcerated parent. This is the fifth year that Middle River Regional Jail has hosted a Christmas Visitation Program for selected inmates and their families. Each person had a 30-minute contact visit with their child(ren) and one adult during which they were able to paint picture frames together. Photos were taken near the end of the visit, to be sent home for the children to put in the frames. Numerous civilians and inmates thanked staff for putting the program together and said how much this program meant to them, and especially their children.
