Central Shenandoah Criminal Training Justice Academy in collaboration with the American Jail Association hosted the first "Virginia Jail Leadership Initiative" (VAJLI) class. The initiatives’ purpose is to identify emerging leaders at the corporal-, sergeant-, lieutenant level. The training curriculum covered the core competencies for jail leaders such as; leading and managing during critical times, strategic planning, vision, agency cultures and staff conflict resolution. The class consisted of twenty-nine leaders from different jails throughout Virginia. Facility Superintendents and management staff were invited for the presentation and graduation ceremony. Congratulations to Sergeant Frank Dull, Sergeant Kevin Pultz and Corporal Travis Tolley in completing the first Virginia Jail Leadership Initiative class.
